Books
Go Girl books have been a part of young girls’ lives since 2005. The series was originally published as a real life alternative to the plethora of fairy and unicorn books that seemed to dominate the book scene for girls over six at the time.
Where were all the real girls?
It seemed many were asking the same question, for while bratty looking dolls and obscene-tween starlets seemed the order of the day, over 2.5 million Go Girl books were bought by Australian and New Zealand mums and girls.
The series has been applauded for it’s unique combination of simple language and emotional depth – just because they may not have the language skills yet, the girls reading Go Girl are maturing emotionally at warp speed – and are used in schools as a teaching aid.
Six years on and the books have been given a new lease of life with refreshed covers for a new generation of readers to enjoy.
