Jen and I were lucky enough to be involved in the Aussie Bloggers Conference last weekend, and were truly blown away by the organisation, speakers and wonderful women we met.

A big congratulations to Brenda, Veronica, Nicole, Tina and Karen for putting it all together. While we’re still very new on the blog scene, it was an amazing thing to watch people who have real and strong connections meet for the very first time!

We learned so much, and are hoping to have many of the wonderful writers we met guest blog on mygogirl because so many people have so much to offer on the topic of celebrating girls being girls. This site is for you to share, learn and discuss your own Go Girls. The gorgeous things they say and do, the problems you’re helping them work through, the issues facing all young girls today, and more.

And while you’re at it, you shouldn’t forget yourself! I had so many lovely conversations with women at ABC about the fact that not a lot has changed. Girls are still feeling the same things that we felt when we were young, they are just in a different setting!

Sure, there’s plenty of icky stuff that we could dwell on like poor role models and the influence of the media but we could also flip it around and focus on the positives.

And we should also take comfort in something that is often forgotten: it all starts here. They’ll be Go Girls because of us and the example we set.
